Well I haven’t really updated about Benson too much lately,
but I thought I would just post a sweet moment I experienced earlier today.
Benson and I were playing and while he entertained himself
for a few short minutes I started to look at some pictures of our little
family, of Ben and I then of our little boy and then pictures of each of our families.
I suddenly had and incredibly overwhelming feeling of LOVE! I leaned over to Benson who was on a blanket
on the floor and I just started talking to him and told him how much I loved
Daddy and how much I love him and grandma and grandpa and everyone else, but
most of all I loved and thanked my
heavenly father who blessed me with these wonderful blessings! Benson instantly flashed me the biggest smile I’ve seen all week long
and squealed something that I imagine meant something like “I love you too
mommy” or “I am so happy to be part of your family too!” etc. My eyes swelled with tears and I kissed my sweet
little boy.
That experience is simple and probably insignificant to
some, but it was a wonderful moment for me and it’s been the highlight of my
day ever since. I know that my Father in
Heaven has blessed me in more ways than I can even comprehend. Each day there are
sweet little tender mercies that probably go unnoticed more than they should ,
but I am so grateful to have the blessing of family each and every day no
matter how imperfect each one of us are. Family is what it’s all about!
