Last Weekend

Last week our weekend fun started out on Thursday night when we were invited to our friends to help out with a missionary effort and make friends with a couple in our ward. We spent the night high above the city on the 15th floor of a building eating yummy food, playing with babies and talking up a storm. It was a lot of fun getting to know the couple hopefully we will see them at church sometime soon, but if not we at least met some new friends J

Friday night was a double whammy we were originally invited over to our friend’s house to play the new WII- U, a few days later another friend invited us to go see the Honolulu City Lights for her daughters 2nd birthday and then some delicious frozen yogurt at a place called Menchies afterward. So we decided to be cool and do it all, and guess what it totally paid off it was a fantastic night!

It was really hard to get Benson's attention when
there were  so many fun trees to look at.
I was excited to see the Honolulu City lights they were bright and festive and prefect for a little family outing. The only thing it seemed to be missing was missing was a nativity scene depicting the true meaning of Christmas the birht of Jesus Christ. It really made me really miss Mesa where we could just drive a mile to the temple grounds see gorgeous lights depicting several different events surrounding the Saviors birth.  The Honolulu City lights were still a lot of fun though, we enjoyed looking at the lights, the tree decorating competition and the cool wreath hall was full of lots colors and unique ideas.
Afterwards when we were headed for some frozen yogurt we hopped a ride with some of our friends who brought along their old car seat to put Benson in since we had to take the bus on our way to the lights. Come to find out they were trying to get rid of their really nice car seat. I asked them how much they were selling their car seat  for because I wasn’t really too fond of mine and well…. They just gave it to us for free. It was a totally unexpected wonderful blessing.
We have been able to use the new car seat a few times since then and I have to admit I am in love! I totally beats out our old one.
Later that night around 9:00 we headed a few blocks over to play the new WII-U. We enjoyed yummy late night snacks had a fun photo shoot party before the games. Once we started playing the Wii-U it was definitely hard to get the boys to stop. Finally around midnight they decided it was time to call it quits since Ben had to be at work by 8:00 am. Overall our busy Friday night was fantastic.

Wishing you a Merry Christmas!

A happy baby who was up way past his bedtime ;)
Saturday was a little less eventful since Ben worked from 8-5pm.  So when he got home we decided to have a little adventure and try out a restaurant in our neighborhood called “Da’ Kitchen” which is known for its large portions so we were able to split a plate. We tried the yummy Kahlua pork sandwich and it was pretty Huge and pretty delicious.

As we were finishing our plate Ben frantically looked at me and asked if I had brought my wallet because he remembered thatI had to borrow his debit card earlier that day since I accidently lost mine 3 weeks ago. I told him I didn’t bring it and then we realized... Ops! We don’t have any money!!!  It was a scary/ interesting feeling. So rather than skipping out without paying or looking like bigger idiot's I decided I would enjoy myself and order some dessert to give Ben time to run home and grab our debit cards since we lived only about 10 minutes away.

While Ben was running back and forth getting money,  Benson got a little fussy and wanted us to share with him so I ended up letting him suck on the side of my glass of water which worked like a charm! He was so happy i just sat there watching him and guess what I discovered? Little teeth!  It was so cute!  The teeth are not in yet but I definitely saw them and they are coming! I felt like such proud mom and had a goofy smile on my face for about 5 minutes while I just sat and starred at him.

When Ben arrived back at the restaurant we finished the dessert together and starred at Benson’s incoming teeth a little more before heading home. It was a fun dinner adventure! However, we hope we will never forget our money again!
Sunday was another good day we went to church enjoyed the spirit and oh yeah, we also taught two classes combined in primary. We taught our reglualr little sunbeams and CTR 4… which more than doubled our class.. You can imagine what a crazy time we had. Let's just say we were thankful to go home and just sit, rest end enjoy the rest of our day at home.

When it came time to make dinner decided to have spaghetti (because it sounded fast and easy) but the idea really sounded pretty bland to the both of us. So we ended up trying  to spice it up a bit and make some yummy meatballs to go with it. We hadn't ever attempted meatballs before, but we were happy we did it because they made the spaghetti 10X better! It was a good ending to our fun filled weekend.

Hopefully the rest of the Christmas season will be just as festive and fun!
