Around 9:30 Ben and I were just sitting there talking and amazed
that little Benson was still sleeping when Ben noticed a rash on my arm. We began to investigate little further we
found that I had a rash on my hand and part of my foot as well. Ben had a bit
of the rash on one of his arm too. We both found it odd and started looking
around for the source. About 5 minutes later to our we determined that our
mattress was completely infested with Bed bugs! We were disgusted and confused
as to why we hadn’t noticed anything before then. We immediately cleared a path
trying to make sure nothing would touch the bed as we hauled it down the stairs
and out to the curb for garbage pickup. It was so gross!!!
We spent the majority of the rest of the day investigating and cleaning out everything in our bedroom! Luckily after checking everything in our bedroom and then every other piece of furniture in our house it seems as if the bed was the only space affected by the bed bugs. Let’s hope we are right! We pray that that is the end of it!
Right now our house is kinda turned upside down since we
don’t really want anything in our room. We are trying to decide what kind of
action to take on our tight budget to make sure the room is neutralized before
moving anything back in. We are hoping that steam cleaning the carpets along
with bug bombs will help
For now we are
sleeping on the couch, thankfully it pulls out in to a full queen size bed that
is actually pretty comfy! We hope this will be a short term alternative though.
Despite our horrible discovery and the fact that we are now
without a bed and the use of our bedroom for a while, we actually managed to
have a pretty good day cleaning and spending time together! We got a lot done
and we are glad we found those icky bugs before they spread!
