Thankful for Hawaii

Ben and I moved her just over 3 months ago and it has been quite an experience so far. Most days we are fine and feel like we have adjusted to our new lifestyle pretty comfortably, but there are still a hand full of days where it still feels overwhelming (days like yesterday).

It’s hard when I realize that the things I am worrying about or get frustrated with are so small and petty in comparison to everything else in life and to many of the hardships throughout the world. In those moments I am thankful to know that Heavenly Father still listens to my heartaches and knows how those small, petty worries are big to me and how they burden my heart. I am grateful for the comforting peace his spirit brings and for the reassurance he gives.
I know that being here in Hawaii is a blessing! It is where we are supposed to be. Getting outside of our comfort zones and stretching ourselves in order to grow is never comfortable, but this challenge is still certainly a blessing in our lives.  I am so grateful to have a husband who is smart, talented and determined in the choices he makes. I am grateful that he was willing to take this big leap to help make our future better. I am grateful for the time we have here to rely on one another and become a stronger family unit. I am grateful for the faith we feel that our Heavenly father has in us. I am grateful for the beauty of this island and its temperate climate. I am grateful to have made such good, kind, and very charitable friends who so willingly help us in whatever way they can. I am grateful for the opportunity to discover some strengths and talents I didn’t even know that I had.

Although it may not always be easy I truly am grateful for our time here in Hawaii.
