(haha wow I accidently typed 21st and almost didn’t even catch it :P)
Lucky for me, Ben actually took the day off (since he normally works every Saturday) so we could spend the day together . So we decided to enjoy the morning and sleep in a little, which meant that we pushed our morning scripture study back about two hours. After we got up and did our morning study I decided I wanted to be lazy and lay in bed to relax a little more while my wonderful husband Ben made me a cute surprise breakfast.

I then got to open my first birthday gift, which was a
SNOOGLE!! :) :) I wanted one so bad! (For those who don’t know it’s a body pillow that
it specially designed for pregnant Women. Recently I have been having trouble
getting comfortable and sleeping during the nights so this gift was 100% ideal!)
After opening my gift I
got ready and met up with my sister in law and we both went to a stake Women’s
conference that our stake put on. I didn’t really want to go on my birthday,
but afterwards I was really glad that I did because it was very uplifting. My favorite quote was from my stake president
when he said:
“Perfection does not mean to be without flaw
or fault; it means to be complete and whole”
He went on to talk
about how if you have made all of your covenants and you are striving daily to
keep your covenants and do your best
then essentially we are a lot closer to perfection than we often think.
I really liked that because I realize no one is perfect, but it feels good to
know that I am closer than I may have thought.
Anyways a delicious Café
Rio style pork salad was served at a luncheon following the conference, and
believe me I enjoyed it with a full and happy plate before I headed home to see
what else my husband had planned for the rest of the day.
When I arrived home I was
sent on a scavenger hunt all around our apartment to hunt down one of my gifts.
I eventually found the treasure, which actually was a small lump of cash that
had been contributed to by several people for my birthday. It scavenger hunt was a perfect
idea that made the cash into something fun and special just like real
treasure. Besides that I love Ben’s scavenger hunts, because he always surprises me
with how witty/ clever he can be. The next couple of hours were spent shopping! I didn’t get very much butit was still fun because I had a delightful husband with me who didn’t complain one bit while I dragged him around from one store to another. (That was one of his gifts to me by the way).
Once we were finished we swung by Red Robin to get one of my favorite meals and headed out for our traditional picnic dinner at Fountain Hills park where Ben had proposed two years earlier on my 20th birthday. The weather was beautiful and the scenery was perfect as usual.
As we were finishing dinner the fountain went off and Ben let me open my final gift it was a beautiful album filled with all of our pictures from our trip to Japan over Christmas break. I loved it! It was something we had talked about doing several times, but we never ended up getting around to it. I was glad he did it and that we were able to flip through it and talk about some of our favorite memories from our trip.

| This was my 3rd year posing infront of this fountain on my birthday! |
We finished out picnic by playing a few card games and throwing around the Frisbee a little.
On our way back into town we stopped by The Golden Spoon for some yummy frozen Yogurt and finished out the night by watching a good movie.
It was a wonderful day to say the least. This year is going to be a good year i can feel it! I’m really excited for all of the exciting changes heading our way. Hopefullyi can keep this blog updated. :)

Happy Birthday! Ben is awesome at Birthdays! Lucky Girl! HEHEHE
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday, again!! That sounds like a wonderful day :) I have to work on my birthday this year, so we'll see what TJ comes up with. And I think I would love one of those pillows! Sleeping got uncomfortable for me early on, and I have a hard time not rolling onto my back as I sleep.
ReplyDeleteThanks guy's! It was great! And Kylie I really like the pillw, but if your picky like me it may start out too firm but I hope once i brak it it will be Fabulous! Also I tend to toss and turn throughout the night and this pillow makes it very hard to switch sides... just so you know.
