Summer Catch-up

Ben and I had a great, yet very busy summer. Ben worked his first summer at his new job at “Blue Sky Pest Control” and loved it! Of course it was really hot and he always came home really sweaty and slightly stinky, but he had a good time and felt like he managed his time really well. I think that he liked the responsibility of having a job to go to everyday to support us since he didn’t have a real job the whole last year.

I on the other hand switched jobs, I went from working at a law firm to becoming a house maid for a company called “Maids on the Spot.” This was a good change! I wasn’t too fond of my job at the law firm at all, so when my friend Jessie presented me with an opportunity for another job even though it was a significant pay cut I took it! Its not the most glamorous of jobs, but it is a job and it is actually pretty perfect for what I need right now, which it awesome!

My brother Stephen also got married this summer! He and his awesome wife Amber were sealed for time and for all eternity on July 8th 2011 in the Rexburg ID Temple (just one day before our 1 year anniversary.) So we flew up to Utah and then drove with my grandma to Idaho for the wedding! It was great! I am so happy for the both of them they make a awesome couple!

Like I just mentioned on July 9th Ben and I celebrated our one year anniversary! We celebrated by spending the day at my favorite amusement park Lagoon. I LOVED IT!! Unfortunately we don’t have any pictures to show for it because we had to put ALL of our stuff in lockers all day… and I mean all of it .. They refused to let me on rides 3 times because I had random things that were not allowed to be taken on rides needless to say it was ridiculous and it made me mad! Other than that though it was a perfect day topped of with a movie and a stay at the Hyatt!

I also went to camp this year. It was my first time going to camp in what seems like a long time. This time however was very different because I went as a leader! It was a blast I love the girls I am over and I am so glad I got to go. Camp really is a blessing to all of those who are able to go.

Last but not least over the summer we finally got my dad out of his apartment and moved in to my moms house which made it officially “my parents house” (you guys seriously have no idea how cool it feels to say that.) It was a lot bigger of a project than I could have ever imagined! We did it little by little over the summer as we tried to be careful to make sure we didn’t loose focus or take away from my brothers wedding and open house here in Mesa. But it is finally done! Even though the hose is not spik-and-span its all in one spot and my heart is so grateful for that!

Summer 2011 was a success! I left out a lot of little things that happened, but over all I think you guys get the picture J
